We also include environmental factors that may affect our electricity prices and demand. Weekly Rundown: The market demand and prices decline throughout the week. A contributing factor was the nationwide transport strike and the approaching cold season where average temperatures have lowered, thus lessening the need for cooling appliances such as air conditioners. Electricity demand and prices went down this past week with the average electricity demand in the Luzon-Visayas grid reaching as low as 9,906 MW while average electricity prices went down to as low as Php 2.90 per kwH. Meanwhile, the shear line and northeast monsoon brought scattered rainfall to the Northern and Southern regions of Luzon. Here's the day-to-day breakdown: Nov 17: Friday - Northeast monsoon affected Northern Luzon. Ilijan GT2-1 and Bacman Units 2 and 3 went online after an unplanned outage while San Lorenzo Module 60 shut down for a planned outage. Nov 18: Saturday - Northeast monsoon continued to affect Northern Luzon. Masinloc Unit 3 shut down for an unplanned outage while Calaca Unit 1 was online after a planned outage. Nov 19: Sunday - San Lorenzo Module 60 tripped as a result of an unplanned outage during their ongoing unit tuning for LNG commissioning and Masinloc Unit 3 was online then later tripped. San Lorenzo Module 50 came online. Nov 20: Monday - San Lorenzo Module 50 tripped for a then later came online. Sual Unit 1 and Masinloc Unit 3 came online. Sta Rita Module 30 came shut down. Nov 21: Tuesday - Sta Rita Module 60 came online from an unplanned outage while Sta Rita Module 40 shut down for a planned outage. Nov 22: Wednesday - Sta Rita Module 20 and 40 cutout then came online due to their ongoing tuning test of new fuel which is LNG. MPGC Unit 2 and Sta Rita Module 30 came online. Nov 23: Thursday - The sheer line brought rainfall to Southern Luzon. Sta Rita Module 10 tripped then later came online due to an unplanned outage.
