Weekly Rundown: The average electricity demand in the Luzon-Visayas grid reached as high as 11,715 MW while average electricity prices went up to as high as Php 6.44 per kwH. Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon continued to bring scattered rainfall to the Northern and Central regions of Luzon during the week. Here's the day-to-day breakdown: Dec 1: Friday - Northeast monsoon brought scattered rainfall to Northern and Central Luzon. SCPC Unit 3 shut down for a planned outage while San Gabriel came online after an unplanned outage from Nov 30’s shutdown. Dec 2: Saturday - Northeast monsoon continued to bring scattered rainfall to Northern Luzon. No major outages happened however, Dinginin 1 was derated. Also, Automatic Load dropping (ALD ) occurred and was then restored at NGCP and MERALCO feeders. This is a safety procedure wherein power is cut off in certain areas because the power supply is very low. Dec 3: Sunday - SCPC Unit 2 tripped and then later came back online after an unplanned outage. Sta. Rita Module 30 shut down then came back online after a planned outage. Dec 4: Monday - Northeast Monsoon continued to bring rainfall to Northern Luzon. Ilijan GT1-1, GT1-2, GT2-2, ST1, and ST2 was online from an unplanned outage that lasted from November 15 to 18. Dec 5: Tuesday - Easterlies winds brought humid weather to the whole country. San Gabriel shut down then came back online from an unplanned outage. Dec 6: Wednesday - Easterlies were estimated east of the country. SLTEC 2 came online from an unplanned outage. Dec 7: Thursday - Northeast Monsoon brought rainfall to Northern Luzon. San Gabriel shut down for LNG Commissioning.
