Weekly Rundown: The lower average electricity demand and prices experienced during the week of Christmas were anticipated due to the holiday season and consistent inclement weather experienced from the northeast monsoon. The monsoon brought light to moderate scattered rainfall throughout the week. The average electricity demand in the Luzon-Visayas grid reached as low as 8,356 MW while average electricity prices went down to as low as Php 2.50 per kwH. Here's the day-to-day breakdown: Dec 22: Friday - Northeast monsoon brought scattered rainfall to Northern and Central Luzon. San Lorenzo Unit 50 shut down for a planned outage. Dec 23: Saturday - SLPGC Unit 1 and SLTEC Unit 1 shut down from an unplanned outage. San Lorenzo Module 60 tripped then came back online from an unplanned outage with a 163MW load. Sual Unit 2 was online from a planned outage where it shut down last Nov 30, 2023. Dec 24: Sunday - Ilijan ST-2 and GT2 -2 shut down due to an unplanned outage. San Lorenzo Module 50 came online from a planned outage while San Gabriel shut down due to an unplanned outage. Dec 25: Monday - Northeast monsoon brought scattered rainfall to the whole Luzon region. Dec 26: Tuesday - QPPL went online tripped with a 94MW load then came back online from its unplanned outage. Dec 27: Wednesday - Sta. Rita Module 20 tripped with a 275MW load and then later came back online from its unplanned outage. Masinloc Unit 1 shut down due to an unplanned outage. Dec 28: Thursday - San Gabriel went online from an unplanned outage. It later tripped with an 8MW load and then came back online from its unplanned outage.
