We've compiled the Luzon and Visayas average electricity prices and demand per day, along with the power plant activities that occurred each day. We also include environmental factors that may affect our electricity prices and demand. 𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤𝐥𝐲 𝐑𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐧: The average market prices and demand increased this past week following shutdowns of coal plants, with natural gas as the marginal clearing plant resulting in higher prices. Moreover, the prevailing easterly weather system brought warmer temperatures affecting the country. The average electricity demand in the Luzon-Visayas grid went up to as high as 11,876 MW while average electricity prices went up as high as Php 19.53 per kwH. 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞'𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐚𝐲-𝐭𝐨-𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐧: Mar 1: Friday - Northeast Monsoon affected Northern Luzon while the Easterlies affected the rest of the country. Ilijan BLock B with 600MW load tripped from a Forced/Unplanned Outage. No Automatic Load Dropping (ALD). Masinloc Unit 1 with 279MW load tripped from a Forced/Unplanned Outage. Meanwhile, Ilijan GT2 - 2 and Ilijan ST2 came online from an Unplanned Outage. Mar 2: Saturday - Northeast Monsoon affected Northern Luzon while the Easterlies affected the rest of the country. Ilijan GT2-1 and Masinloc Unit 1 are online from Forced/Unplanned Outages. LPI (SCPC) Unit 4 shut down from a Planned Outage. Naga-Ormoc 350kV HVDC (Luzon -Visayas) de-blocked at 1718H with power going to Luzon (Planned Outage) Mar 3: Monday - Northeast Monsoon affected Northern Luzon while the Easterlies affected the rest of the country. Ilijan GT2-1, GT2 - 2, and ST2 shut down from a Forced/Unplanned Outage. Sta. Rita Module 40 online from a Forced/Unplanned Outage. SLPGC Unit 1 with 150MW load tripped from a Forced/Unplanned Outage. Mar 4: Monday - Northeast Monsoon affected Northern Luzon while Easterlies affected the rest of the country. Pagbilao Unit 1, Ilijan GT2-1, GT2-2, ST2 are online from Forced/Unplanned Outage. SLPGC Unit 1 online then tripped from 40MW while on load stabilization, then went online once more from its Forced/Unplanned Outage. Mar 5: Tuesday - Easterlies affecting the whole country. Ilijan A1-2, A ST1 online from their Forced/Unplanned Outage. GNPD Unit 2 synchronized from a Planned Outage. Mar 6: Wednesday - Easterlies affecting the country. GMEC Unit 1 was online from its Forced/Unplanned Outage. Mar 7: Thursday - Easterlies affecting the country. Calaca Unit 2 shutdown from a Forced/Planned Outage.
