We also include environmental factors that may affect our electricity prices and demand. 𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤𝐥𝐲 𝐑𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐧: The average market prices and demand increased this past week resulting in higher prices. Moreover, the easterly weather system brought warmer temperatures to the country early in the week then a ridge of High-Pressure Area affected the country in the later part of the week. The average electricity demand in the Luzon-Visayas grid went up to as high as 11,156 MW while average electricity prices went up as high as Php 13.47 per kwH. 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞'𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐚𝐲-𝐭𝐨-𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐧: April 12: Friday - Easterlies affecting the country. SCPC 4 went online from a Forced Outage. April 13: Saturday - Easterlies affecting the country. San Gabriel shutdown then went online from a Planned Outage. April 14: Sunday - Easterlies affecting the country. Sta. Rita 40 tripped from a Forced Outage. April 15: Monday - Easterlies affecting the country. Pagbilao 2 shutdown from a Forced Outage. April 16: Tuesday - Ridge of High Pressure Area (HPA) affecting the country. Pagbilao 1 shutdown from a Forced Outage and SLPGC 2 went online from a Forced Outage. NGCP issued Red and Yellow Alert statuses for Luzon and Visayas Grid while Demand Control Imminent Warning was issued in preparation for the implementation of Manual Load Dropping (MLD). Furthermore, Automatic Load Dropping (ALD) and MLD were implemented due to tripping of Kalayaan 1 & 2 and generation deficiency, then it eventually restored when Kalayaan 1 & 2 went online. Additionally, system operator initiated Market Intervention due to generation deficiency, then lifted. April 17: Wednesday - Ridge of High Pressure Area (HPA) affecting the country. NGCP issued Yellow Alert for Luzon Grid. Sta. Rita 40 went online from a Forced Outage while Kalayaan unit 1 tripped then went online. April 18: Thursday - Ridge of High Pressure Area (HPA) affecting the country. NGCP issued Red and Yellow Alert statuses for Luzon and Visayas Grid. MPGC 2 went online while on commissioning and Malaya 2 shutdown from a Forced Outage. Demand Control Imminent Warning was issued in preparation for the implementation of MLD.
