𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤𝐥𝐲 𝐑𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐧: The average market demand remained high while average market prices slightly increased this past week. Moreover, the easterly weather system brought warmer temperatures affecting the country, and later in the week, the shear line brought scattered rainfall in Northern Luzon. NGCP raised Yellow and Red Alerts in the Luzon Grid and the ERC declared market suspension for the Luzon Grid. The average electricity demand in the Luzon grid went up to as high as 11,652 MW while average electricity prices went to as high as Php 11.34 per kWh. 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞'𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐚𝐲-𝐭𝐨-𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐧: May 17: Friday - Shear Line affecting Extreme Northern Luzon while the Easterlies affect the rest of the country. MPGC 1 with 150MW tripped due to an Unplanned Outage. Ilijan GT1-2 shut down due to an Unplanned Outage. May 18: Saturday - Shear Line affecting Extreme Northern Luzon while Easterlies affect the rest of the country. Market Operator (MO)-initiated Market Intervention for Luzon, Visayas, & Mindanao Grid due to failure to generate RTD. SCPC 1 & 3 with a total load of 300MW (150MW each) on house load due to SIPS activation caused by unlooping of the Balsik-San Jose 500kV Line from an Unplanned Outage. SCPC 1 synchronized but tripped from an Unplanned Outage. SCPC 3 synchronized from an Unplanned Outage. SCPC 3 manually tripped from a 30MW load due to an Unplanned Outage. SCPC 1 came back online from its Unplanned Outage. May 19: Sunday - Shear Line affecting Extreme Northern Luzon while Easterlies affect the rest of the country. May 20: Monday - Weather Update: Shear Line affecting Extreme Northern Luzon while Easterlies affect the rest of the country. Kalayaan 4 as pump with a load of 160MW tripped from an Unplanned Outage. NGCP issued a Yellow Alert for Luzon Grid. May 21: Tuesday - Easterlies affecting the country. For info: Sta Rita Module 20 completed the fuel changeover from oil to natural gas. Sta Rita Module 40 completed the fuel changeover from fuel oil to natural gas. NGCP issued a Yellow Alert for Luzon Grid. Ilijan A GT 1-2 online (Unplanned Outage). MO-initiated Market Intervention for Luzon, Visayas, & Mindanao Grid starting interval 1735H due to failure to generate Real-Time Dispatch (RTD). May 22: Wednesday - Easterlies affecting the country. NGCP issued a Yellow Alert for Luzon Grid. Calaca Unit 2 online and then tripped with 30MW (Unplanned Outage). Automatic Load Dropping (ALD) occurred at NGCP and MERALCO area due to tripping Sual 1 with 540 MW then restored. May 23: Thursday - Weather Update: Easterlies affecting the country. Calaca 2 returned online and then tripped with a 15 MW load due to an Unplanned Outage. Later on in the day, Calaca Unit 2 came back online and then tripped with an 80 MW load. NGCP issued a Red and Yellow Alert on the Luzon Grid. ERC has declared market suspension for the Luzon grid. SCPC Unit 3, Calaca Unit 2, and Sual Unit 1 came online from their Unplanned Outages.
