The lower derated capacity of power plants from the previous week led to lower prices in the market. MO-initiated Market Intervention was issued for Luzon, Visayas, & Mindanao Grid starting interval 0815H last Aug 17, Saturday due to failure to generate a Real-Time Dispatch (RTD) schedule. The average electricity demand in the Luzon grid went up to as high as 11,004 MW while average electricity prices went to as low as Php 5.27 per kWh.
