This week, we’re featuring key articles from the regulatory sector that are shaping the energy landscape: Spotlight: 𝐃𝐎𝐄 𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐬 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐫𝐝 𝐑𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐄𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 𝐀𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 The Department of Energy (DOE) announced on Thursday the issuance of the Notice of Auction (NOA) and Terms of Reference (TOR) for the third round of the Green Energy Auction (GEA-3). While the auction date has not yet been set, the DOE is awaiting the Energy Regulatory Commission's release of the price determination methodology for the Green Energy Auction Reserve Price. Under the TOR, the DOE plans to auction: •100 MW for geothermal projects (2025–2027 delivery) •300 MW of impounding hydro (2028–2030 delivery) •4,000 MW of pumped storage hydro (2028–2032 delivery) •75 MW of run-of-river hydro (2027–2029 delivery) READ MORE: https://manilastandard.net/business/314523537/doe-opens-third-round-of-green-energy-auction.html 𝐍𝐆𝐂𝐏 𝐭𝐨 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐏𝟔𝟎𝟎 𝐁𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐬 The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) has unveiled plans to implement over 100 projects under its Transmission Development Plan (TDP) through 2050, with a total investment of ₱600 billion. Among these, 13 major grid developments will cover Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, with seven (7) projects located in the Visayas. Of the major projects, six (6) have already received approval from the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC), while the rest are awaiting regulatory decisions.
