In a strategic move to optimize energy management and control utility overhead, Carmelray Industrial Corporation, developer and estate manager of one of Southern Luzon’s flagship industrial hubs, has officially partnered with Mabuhay Energy Corporation (MECO), marking a key milestone that substantially widens MECO’s footprint across tier-one manufacturing estates.
Spanning expansive estates across Canlubang and Calamba alongside Laguna Technopark, Carmelray functions as an indispensable economic engine in Calabarzon, housing dozens of multinational enterprises in precision electronics, automotive components, and logistics. By leveraging the Retail Aggregation Program (RAP), MECO extends its cost-optimization model from standalone manufacturing plants to an integrated ecozone, structuring customized pricing agreements that shield vital estate operations from volatile market price swings.
Under the agreement, MECO supplies power to Carmelray's extensive shared facilities and operational infrastructure across a total of 44 meters. These include critical estate-wide assets such as administration buildings, dormitories, recreational clubhouses, business centers, and vital water pump stations. Through the RAP, MECO pools the energy demand across these various facilities, allowing Carmelray to qualify for competitive power rates.
Power represents one of the most substantial ongoing operating burdens for manufacturers running continuous assembly lines and round-the-clock machinery. Sudden electricity price swings can erode operating income, disrupt multi-year contracts, and constrain capital allocation. For Carmelray, tapping MECO delivers a sharp commercial advantage. Lowering utility overhead and guaranteeing price stability reduces the overall cost of doing business inside the park, strengthening tenant retention and reinforcing Carmelray’s appeal to investors seeking cost-efficient hubs.
The partnership reflects MECO’s accelerating momentum across Southern Luzon and nearby industrial hubs. Prior to powering Carmelray, MECO had already built a formidable portfolio serving high-consumption manufacturing and heavy industrial enterprises across Laguna and neighboring provinces. Industry leaders such as Daiho Philippines, Prima Tech Phils. Inc., Miyasaka Polymer (Phils.), Inc., HTS Corporation, PL Technology, Basic Necessity, Yamaha Motor Philippines, and TeamQuest Technology, Inc. have all entrusted their power supply to MECO to navigate heavy continuous load profiles.
MECO’s broader industrial footprint extends across key sectors in the region and nearby economic zones, powering major market leaders including food and beverage giant Oishi, heavy industrial anchor like Cathay Pacific Steel Corporation (CAPASCO), as well as essential industrial materials manufacturers such as Asian Coatings Phils., Inc., maker of the renowned Rain or Shine paint brand.
By bringing one of Laguna’s premier industrial estates into its growing portfolio alongside many of the country’s top manufacturing giants, MECO cements its position as a go-to power partner for Philippine industry—demonstrating that competitive retail supply, structured pricing, and flexible power agreements directly safeguard bottom-line manufacturing growth.
