Mount Malarayat successfully unlocks the "power of choice." Instead of being bound by standard, rigid utility rates, the club can now customize its energy procurement to match its specific consumption patterns. This strategic approach to the open market allows the resort to optimize its power expenditures, insulating its bottom line from unpredictable tariff hikes and unlocking financial efficiencies that can be reinvested directly back into the property.

LIPA CITY, Batangas — The prestigious Mount Malarayat Golf & Country Club is now actively navigating the country's Retail Competition and Open Access (RCOA) framework, entering a strategic power supply partnership with Mabuhay Energy Corporation (MECO).

The deal officially introduces the 210-hectare luxury sports and leisure estate into the competitive retail electricity market, shifting Mount Malarayat from a passive utility consumer to an empowered, active market participant. With MECO serving as its expert guide through the RCOA landscape, the world-class resort is positioned to fully optimize its energy costs while reinforcing the long-term sustainability of its massive operations.

The Philippine government's RCOA framework was designed to foster healthy market competition, giving qualified, large-scale power consumers the autonomy to choose their own suppliers. Navigating this deregulated market, however, requires a partner with the right technical and commercial expertise.

By working closely with MECO, Mount Malarayat successfully unlocks the "power of choice." Instead of being bound by standard, rigid utility rates, the club can now customize its energy procurement to match its specific consumption patterns. This strategic approach to the open market allows the resort to optimize its power expenditures, insulating its bottom line from unpredictable tariff hikes and unlocking financial efficiencies that can be reinvested directly back into the property.

Operating a premier 27-hole championship golf course alongside expansive hotel and country club amenities is an incredibly resource-intensive endeavor. Keeping the estate running efficiently requires a delicate balance of smart asset management and fiscal responsibility.

With MECO steering its retail power strategy, Mount Malarayat secures a more resilient and predictable energy future that directly translates into tangible benefits for its exclusive community of members and guests.

Could your business benefit from open access?
